Drawing on the smoked copper plates…
After being in the acid, and the ground wiped off…
First proof of the plate, (the plate being 5 x 6 cm).
as you might have gathered from above, Bumblebees are my subject for this series of plates!
I was invited to attend a little gathering at the Print co operative I recently joined, to meet with some of the other new members. Tea ,chatting and a bit of print making, jolly good Sunday afternoon I think !
These are the three final prints I put up in the my degree show
( well versions of them, they vary slightly),
these are just printed cleanly without too much added.
I shall upload images of the slightly different versions, and hopefully with links to my etsy shop where you can purchase your very own copy! Soooon!

So three years of Thursdays are soon at an end, culminating in the Degree Show!
Here are my three pieces up on the wall, if you find yourself in Bristol from the 7th of June to the 12th do come have a look the Show !
I Shall post more photos later …
This is a detail of one of three (soon to be four) large copper plates ( about A2 size) that I am working on at the moment, and the first proof of it after etching to add more lines. they are going well if slowly!
I have tried to exaggerate the perspectives of the trees to emphasise some of the extraordinary shapes they make, and have been using a new process for me, sugar lift then spit biting.
I have been asked to do a Workshop for a local art group near Bristol, (Yay!) the first half will be about Drawing in ink, so I thought it would be a good idea to have a go first..
I had another go simplifying what I drew and really aiming for a layering of techniques, but trying to keep it bold shapes, with the little samples to the side . What do you all think? good examples of using inks qualities or not?
