I will add a few posts about some of the other work that was on show in the MA printmaking show, these are by a lady called Claire Cohen
This was a visually tricksy piece , called ‘8minutes’, made by printing onto layers of perspex, giving it a very good sense of 3D-ness.
It represents the sun , and the title is the time it takes for the light from the sun to reach earth. You just wanted to try and touch it !
Claire made lovely embossed prints on the wall as well, her imagery coming from data, like these patterns and designs in the book she made. They were things like, plotting the distance from us to mercury every day , or where the sun is at its highest every day of the year and the orbits of Saturn’s moons. Which she then turned into these wonderful colourful designs.
